Map showing Explorations to the eastward and southward of Hampton Plains (Western Australia) by Alexander Forrest, Assistant Surveyor, 1871' Exploration map detailing the tracks taken by Alexander Forrest on his exploration east of Perth to the Hampton Plains and Lake Lefroy. The expedition then headed south to the Thomas River east of Esperance and followed the coast across to the Stirling Range and then trekked in a north-westerly direction back to York. The map was published for the Journal of the Royal Geographical Society by J. Murray, Albemarle Street, London, 1872. Edward Weller, died 1884, was an English engraver, publisher and cartographer working in London in the late 19th century. Folds as issued.
