Greystanes, a historical home on Prospect Hill, was built by Nelson Simmons Lawson, third child of Lieutenant William Lawson.
Tipped-in collotype from Hardy Wilson's 'Old Colonial Architecture in New South Wales and Tasmania'.
William Hardy Wilson was an Australian architect, artist and author. Determined to make Australians as aware of their early colonial heritage, Wilson made drawings of colonial buildings in New South Wales and Tasmania: he 'looked at buildings with a painter's eye as much as an architect's', even noting the plants in their gardens. In 1924, his 'Old Colonial Architecture in New South Wales and Tasmania' was published containing 50 collotypes after his drawings.
