Original antique medical print

Ma foi! c'est, comme on dit, une veritable rang_e de perles!.... seulement, il y en a quelques unes de defilees ; voila tout !' ' the saying goes . like a genuine string of pearls, .... only some of them have become unthreaded, that's all!' Original lithograph by Honore Daumier published in Paris in 1840. Initialled 'HD' in the image. From a series titled 'Coquetterie' which was published in the French magazine 'Le Charivari'. Honore Daumier (1808-1879), was a French printmaker, caricaturist, painter, and sculptor, whose many works offer commentary on social and political life in France in the 19th century. A prolific and reknown draftsman who produced over 4000 lithographs, he was perhaps best known for his caricatures of political figures and satires on the behavior of his countrymen. Folds as issued, text on the reverse as issued. Faint off-setting. Faint stain by mirror. A couple of pin holes at edge of sheet, well outside the image area. Dentistry interest.
