Sir James Mackintosh (1765 - 1832) was a Scottish jurist, Whig politician and historian. He was a key member of the Scottish Enlightenment and, as a close friend, influenced Governor Lachlan Macquarie thoughts on how to govern New South Wales. Published by T. Cadell & W. Davies, 16 August 1814. Some faint foxing top right. With original accompanying biographical text. Library ink stamp on the reverse. Faint movement in the sheet, much exaggerated in the photo.
