Julia Domna (170 AD -217 AD) was a member of the Severan dynasty of the Roman Empire. Empress and wife of Roman Emperor Lucius Septimius Severus and mother of Emperors Geta and Caracalla, Julia was among the most important women ever to exercise power behind the throne in the Roman Empire.
From "Delle Antiche Statue Greche e Romane..., "a collection of ancient Greek and Roman statues found in Venice by Antonio Maria Zanetti the elder (1680-1757). As the librarian of San Marco, Zanetti was a collector, connoisseur, and artist.
