Bernard-Germain-Etienne de La Ville-sur-Illon, comte de Lacepede (1756 - 1825) was a French naturalist. The Lacepede islands were discovered by Nicolas Baudin in 1801, and named in honour of Lacepede, who described several Australian fish species. From 'Serie di Vite e Ritratti de Famosi Personaggi degli ultimi tempi' published in Milan 1815-1819. Small spot under the title. Fainrt crease in right hand margin, outside the platemark.
