William Lamb, the 2nd Viscount Melbourne (1779-1848) was Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister. Governor Sir Richard Bourke named Melbourne in honour of the Viscount in march 1837. Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) was the eminent Victorian portrait painter, and President of the Royal Academy. A couple of light foxing spots outside image area.
