Details

Annotated '39', titled and signed in pencil. Bruce Robertson was a painter and etcher, who was born in Newcastle, NSW. He went to Britain to pursue his art studies at London Polytechnic, Westminster School and the Central School of Arts and Crafts. Spent some time working in Scotland and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1905. Returned to Australia in 1912 and built a studio at Dee Why, next to a waterfall. He succeeded Lionel Lindsay as President of the Australian Painter-Etchers' Society.
