The Reverend Dr Nevil Maskelyne FRS (1732 – 1811) was the fifth British Astronomer Royal. He held the office from 1765 to 1811. William Wales named the Maskelynes Islands in southern Malekule, Vanuatu after him while on James Cook's second voyage in Resolution. Trimmed within platemark on right edge of sheet. Very light off-setting.
