Original antique portrait print

Richard Pulteney (1730-1801) was a botanist and conchologist. He became a fellow of the Royal Society in 1762, an extra-licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians in 1765, and a fellow of the Linnaean Society in 1790. Sir James Edward Smith commemorated Pulteney's name in the Australian genus of papilionaceous plants, Pultenaea. The engraving is after the oil painting of Pulteney, by Thomas Beach, dated 1788, in the rooms of the Linnaean Society. Light foxing towards edges of sheet, not affecting the image.
