James Larmer was the second in command of the exhibition. Mr Cunningham°refers to Richard Cunningham, the Colonial botanist, who had disappeared on Mitchell's previous expedition. From 'Three Expeditions into the Interior of Eastern Australia; With Descriptions Of the Recently Explored Region of Australia Felix, and of the present colony of New South Wales' by Sir Thomas Livingstone Mitchell.
