The koala is based on the image by John Lewin and the thylacine on the image by Harris. From Bilderbuch Zum Nutzen und Vergnugen Der Jugend by Friedrich Justin Bertuch (1747-1822), an encyclopedic collection of Interesting Animals, Plants, Flowers, Fruits, Minerals, Costumes, Antiquities and other Interesting Objects published in multiple volumes between 1801 and 1815. With original descriptive text in French and German. A couple of tiny marks and one tiny pin hole.
