Thomas Pennant (1726-1798) was a Welsh naturalist and topographer.
It is argued that Pennant Hills, NSW is named after Thomas Pennant (In Search of the Pennant Hills (2007), Trevor Patrick, James Symes & Andrew Tinkand).
He also contributed to the Australian ornithology of Cook's First Voyage (The contribution of Thomas Pennant (1726-1798), Welsh naturalist, to the Australian ornithology of Cook's first voyage (1768-1771), David G. Medway).
