'Sepolcro di Metella o sia Capo di Bove' Published in a series of views of Rome by various artists including Piranesi titled 'Raccolta di varie Vedute di Roma' published in Rome, circa 1750. Duflos was a French artist and engraver who was a contemporary of Vasi, Zocchi and Piranesi. He was a pupil of the Academie royale from 1722 and received the prix de Rome in 1729. He studied with Jean-Francis de Troy in Rome from 1733 to 1745. He is best known for his engraved vedute. Previous owner's name inscribed on reverse not affecting the engraving.
