"OUBC" - Oxford University Boat Club. Original Vanity Fair rowing portrait of Lord Ampthill in flannels and blazer. He was Captain and President of the OUBC. Educated Eton and Oxford. He rowed 3 times in the Varsity race. He was also a Freemason. In 1873 Ward (1851 - 1922) was recruited by the editor of Vanity Fair to replace Carlo Pellegrini (Ape).
