His Excellency Sir William Thomas Denison, K.C.B. &c. &c., Colonel of the Royal Engineers & formerly Governor General of the Australian colonies' Published by Henry Graves, May 21st, 1863. William Denison was Lieutenant Governor of Van Diemen's Land from 1847 to 1855, Governor of New South Wales from 20 January 1855 to 22 January 1861, and Governor of Madras from 1861 to 1866. This a India-laid proof impression before lettering, the quality of the impression is excellent. There is a little wrinkling in a couple of spots of the India paper in the margins outside the image area.
