Sir William Wyndham, 3rd Baronet, (1687-1740) was an English Tory statesman, who served as Secretary at War in 1712 and Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1713 during the reign of the last Stuart monarch, Queen Anne. From Houbraken's series of portrait engravings set within elaborate cartouches titled 'The Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain'. They were published by Knapton originally C1740, this impression is c1820. Jacobus Houbraken was a Dutch line engraver who is known best for this series of portraits.
