Copper-line engraving. 1817. 300mm by 445mm (platemark). Depicts canoes in the Admiralty Islands. The name 'Admiralty Islands' was devised by Captain Philip Carteret of the British Royal Navy in 1767.
They are also sometimes called the Manus Islands, after the largest island.
