Sir James Mackintosh
Stipple engraving. 1814. 380mm by 315mm (platemark). Sir James Mackintosh (1765 - 1832) was a Scottish jurist, Whig politician and historian. He was a key member of the Scottish Enlightenment and, as a close friend, influenced Governor Lachlan Macquarie thoughts on how to govern New South Wales.
