Tinted lithograph. 1843. 350mm by 495mm (image) 420mm by 570mm (sheet). Roberts traveled throughout Egypt and the Holy Land in the late 1830s producing watercolours and drawings of the architecture and landscape. When he returned to London Louis Haghe made tinted lithographs from the watercolours which were published by the best printers of the day.
CONDITION : Crease and staining across bottom left corner of sheet, not affecting the image. A few faint marks in the margins. Item #2300
