Tinted lithograph. 1848. 335mm by 510mm (image) 385mm by 540mm (sheet). Roberts traveled throughout Egypt and the Holy Land in the late 1830s producing watercolours and drawings of the architecture and landscape. When he returned to London Louis Haghe made tinted lithographs from the watercolours which were published by the best printers of the day.
CONDITION : Sheet trimmed. Short repaired tear on left hand edge of sheet. Scuffs, marks, short repaired tears in title area. Two creases across right hand corner of image. On faint crease across bottom left corner of image. One small spot in the image. A couple of faint marks in the image. Pencil annotation in title area. Item #2308
