Mezzotint on steel. 1855. 170mm by 225mm (platemark) 290mm by 425mm (sheet). From 'English Landscape Scenery', 1855. John Constable RA was an English Romantic landscape painter. He believed that imagination and emotion were an important part of artistic expression and so incorporated these tenets into his lush, idyllic scenes. Beginning in 1829, Constable worked closely with David Lucas to produce the mezzotints as a general survey of his work. Some ink residue in title from time of printing. Item #3012
