Mezzotint. 1814. 680mm by 450mm (sheet). SITTER : Thomas William Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester (1754 – 1842) was a British politician and agricultural reformer. He became famous for his advanced methods of animal husbandry used in improving his estate at Holkham in Norfolk. As a result, Coke of Norfolk is seen as one of the instigators of the British Agricultural Revolution. ARTISTS : Charles Turner was an English mezzotint engraver and draughtsman. Sir Thomas Lawrence RA FRS was a leading English portrait painter and president of the Royal Academy. CONDITION : Trimmed just within plate mark at top and bottom. A few short creases and tears at bottom of the sheet, only one going into the actual image. Item #3268
