Dominique Vivant, Baron de Denon (1747-1825) was a French artist, writer, diplomat, author, and archaeologist. Denon was appointed first director of the Louvre Museum by Napoleon after the Egyptian campaign of 1798-1801.Lefevre depicts Denon with Jean Pesne's engraved Oeuvres de Nicolas Poussin. The portrait by Robert Lefevre is held in Musee National du Chateau de Versailles. Robert Lefevre (1755 - 1830) was a French painter of portraits, history paintings and religious paintings.H Garnier (1802-1855) was a reknown French lithographer.A couple of light surface marks in the borders."
